Be Creative Hanging Wall Art
posted by Admin inHanging wall art can be pretty stressful but the thing is it doesn’t need to be. By adopting creative ways to hang wall art it is possible to remove the angst we often feel about the placement, exact measurements and alignment of the oil paintings or wall art. Hanging wall art is not just about proper framing, picture hangers and tape measures, it should also be fun. By using unusual hanging techniques we can introduce additional visual interest in a room’s décor. By using nontraditional hanging hardware you will draw further emphasis and attention to your desired oil paintings or wall art. Use decorative hooks, door stops or knobs to hang the wall art. Apply these directly to the walls surface or alternatively attach across a piece of decorative ceiling tin or molding, (the less ornate and flatter painted is easier to work with). For example take some decorative knobs and a strip of trim molding approximately three feet in length – you can search design, home improvement or salvage stores for these items. Firstly paint and cut the new trim and then mark about six inches in from each edge and attach a knob to the marked areas. Then locate the center point between the attached knobs and attach the third knob. Choose three oil paintings or wall art pieces that will fit within the confines of the knobs and mold (no overlapping) and attach a chain on the back of each for hanging. You then should hang the molding on the wall and then hang a piece of wall art from each of the knobs. The artworks can be hung evenly across or if you prefer at varied heights. You can look out for vintage items such as ornate metal, sprinkler heads or insulators to use in place of modern items. You could also use chains, ribbons or colored wire in place of picture wire to hang the oil paintings or wall art on to the knobs or hooks.
